Consignments

Asian Arts & Decor has participated in the consignment market for as long as the store has been in business. However, we are extremely selective in the items that we choose to take on consignment. We prefer to take consignment pieces which are authentic objects, either reproduction, vintage or antique from Asia. The art pieces and cultural folk works should be in good condition for resale.

The advantages of leaving your consignment piece with us are plentiful. We are one of the last exclusively Asian Art stores in Sarasota and the surrounding area. Also our terms of consignment are unlike most exclusively consignment stores. We only ask that you leave your object for a minimum of 90 days after which point you can have a month to month agreement. We do not force you to lower your price and we are willing in most cases to deliver your piece back to you at the end of your contract without a charge to you unless otherwise specified in your contract.

We have been in business without interruption for over 20 years in the Sarasota region.

Finally, our e-commerce site/website will become fully operational by December 25th, 2011 and will give your consignment piece even more exposure around the world for possible sale.

You may ask why this would be better suited for you than Ebay. The best way to answer that question is for you to do a search of similar items on Ebay and you will see that quite often those asian objects are lost in a sea of product and you will be paying listing fees without any exposure.

You may asky why listing on our site would be better than Craigslist. I would say simply because of the security. Asian Arts frequently uses both of these methods to sell our products but we have the advantage of being a neutral location with lots of public access. There is no need to set appointments with us because we are a fully retail brick and mortar location with hours from 10:00AM to 6:00PM Monday through Saturday.
